Weather: (n) the state of the atmosphere at a particular place and time as regards heat, cloudiness, dryness, sunshine, wind, rain, etc. (v) wear away or change the appearance or texture of (something) by long exposure to the atmosphere.

For e.g.

  • The weathered appearance of the mansion put off prospective buyers.
  • Bad weather prevented them from going trekking.

Whether: (conjunction) expressing a doubt or choice between alternatives.

For e.g.

  • She seemed undecided whether to go or stay.
  • The judge was still unclear whether the victim was guilty or not.
