Band: (n) a flat, thin strip or loop of material, used as a fastener, for reinforcement, or as decoration; a group of people who have a common interest or purpose; a small group of musicians and vocalists.

For e.g.

  • She wore a scarlet band round her waist.

Banned: (verb) officially or legally prohibit (something).

For e.g

  • He was banned from college after he fought with his teacher.
  • Although taking pictures at the museum is banned, tourists start clicking once they are inside.
