The Bharat Ratna is the highest civilian award of the India. It was first awarded in 1954 to Dr. Sarvapalli Radhakrishnan, Chakravarti Rajagopalachari and Dr. Chandrashekhar Venkata Raman. The award is given in the field of arts, science, literature, public services, and any field of human endeavour.
